There is the practical aspect of projection. We are so accustomed to think of mind function as the function of the waking mind that we wonder sometimes at the subtlety and intelligence displayed by the mind in sleep. This is only revealed fully on analysis, for the manifest content of the dream is often a poor motley affair, a mere patchwork, and it is only through investigation that the beautiful dream work is discovered.
